Interview: HARRY HESS ( First Signal / Ex- HAREM SCAREM )

Das nächste Interview ist eins mit HARRY HESS, dem Sänger von FIRST SIGNAL. Vielen dürfte er bekannt sein als der Frontmann der canadischen Band HAREM SCAREM.
Hier ist es........

Hi Harry, I am Michael and welcome to Melodic-Rock-Inside.com.
Thank you for having time for the interview. I have some question for you.

1. What are you currently up to?

I am currently producing a Canadian artist names Sean Jones and doing a bit of writing as well after signing a publishing deal with Universal Music Publishing, working in Sweden and Nashville as well as Toronto.

2. Could you take us through the excellent first album from FIRST SIGNAL
and some of the thoughts/stories behind the songs please...

Well, I was not involved in the writing of this record, I was asked to be a part of this project by Frontiers records as a singer and I had not done any rock for awhile so I was happy to say yes.

3.  How did First Signal come together and is this likely to be an ongoing band?

I would do another but that is up to the fans... If there is a demand for it I'm there...

4. Are there any plans for live dates and how easy/hard is it to get a decent run of tour dates?

I'm not sure, it was always difficult in the past to come so far and bring over 4 or 5 people from a financial standpoint but I'm also open to trying.

5. What were the highlights of Harem Scarem? Looking back if you could change anything what would it be and why?

I guess the first few records and tours were very exciting because it was all new to us but I really have a lot of great memories over the 20 years. Sure, I would do things differently now looking back but at the time we always tried to do the right thing, so this time I would fuck more people over!!!!! just kidding....

6.  What's in the pipeline now?

Just working in the studio and writing, there's always some new band worth working with so that looks like my future for a while.

7.  How hard/easy has it been to get yourself and your music known? How do you view downloads – do they help or hinder new artists?

I would say that I never was very popular but more part of an underground thing being part of H.S, we sold well over a million records but it took many years so it never felt easy... It seems there is a lot of opportunity for exposure for artists these days but not many people willing to pay for music. The music industry is not in good shape for most people but I think Lady Ga Ga isn't complaining...

8.  What do you do in your spare time outside of music?

With music and running a studio it feels like there is no spare time but I try to spend as much time with my kids as possible.

9.  What really gets on your nerves and really annoys you at the moment?

I'm old and grumpy so all of it annoys me!!!!!! ha ha

10.  Message to your fans...

As usual, thanks for your support and I hope I can put of more material over the next few years....

Thank you Harry and I hope we will see us at tour in the future. I wish you good luck with the “FIRST SIGNAL” Debut Album

Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!  Harry
